Palm掌上電腦歷史最經(jīng)典機(jī)型回顧

從第一個(gè)真正意義上的具有palm操作系統(tǒng)的PalmPilot 1000在1996年誕生以來已經(jīng)整整走過了7年，這7年間，palm操作系統(tǒng)在與wince的斗爭(zhēng)中不斷被完善，從1.0發(fā)展到了5.0。直至今天，palm，sony，handspring仍然不斷開發(fā)出新的功能和特性的機(jī)型，2003就有十幾款新機(jī)型上市，引人注目的有sony的有著藍(lán)牙，wi-fi和鍵盤的ux 50，handspring的tero 600智能手機(jī)，palm公司的Tungsten T3，Tungsten E等。7年間風(fēng)云變幻，讓我們通過palm歷史上經(jīng)典機(jī)型的回顧，來看一下7年間的發(fā)展變化。
開山鼻祖——PalmPilot 1000(1996)

提起palm我們不得不提起palm pilot1000,這個(gè)第一部的palmpilot電腦使用的是Hawkins和Dubinsky自己開發(fā)的Palm OS 1.0操作系統(tǒng)，只有128K內(nèi)存。這個(gè)機(jī)器開創(chuàng)了palm的先河，雖然其銷量平平，然而這個(gè)還算小巧、能與個(gè)人電腦同步數(shù)據(jù)，價(jià)格十分便宜的機(jī)器開始受到了人們的關(guān)注。Pilot的功能雖然十分簡(jiǎn)陋，但是它已經(jīng)具備了今天Palm的很多特征，從外型、按鈕布局到手寫識(shí)別系統(tǒng)。
真正意義的現(xiàn)代palm——Palm III(1998)

98年，Palm公司發(fā)布了第三代掌上電腦Palm III，由于Pilot是著名的制筆公司Pilot Pen的商標(biāo)，所以Palm不得已把自己的產(chǎn)品重命名為Palm III。Palm III使用的是Palm OS 3.0操作系統(tǒng)，擁有2M內(nèi)存和2M的Flash ROM，用戶可以升級(jí)操作系統(tǒng)。這是第一款擁有紅外線的palm機(jī)型，從此之后palm開始可以同手機(jī)和palm之間進(jìn)行數(shù)據(jù)交換。同時(shí)Palm OS 3.0在底層的穩(wěn)定性和易用性方面有了很大的改善，各種應(yīng)用軟件開始大量出現(xiàn)。
但是7號(hào)電池的使用使本機(jī)器的外形和體積都大大增加，厚厚大大的機(jī)身使得隨身攜帶并不是一件很舒服的事情。
順便提一下palm III對(duì)中文使用者來說是第一款真正用使用意義的機(jī)器，2m的RAM在裝入中文系統(tǒng)后還會(huì)有幾百k的剩余空間，親切的中文終于能顯示在palm上面了。
輕薄美麗——Plam V (1999)

PalmV是Palm掌上電腦家族中體積最輕巧的一款。整個(gè)機(jī)器簡(jiǎn)直就是完美，它出色的獲得工業(yè)設(shè)計(jì)大獎(jiǎng)的外型，超輕，113g的重量，放在上衣口袋里也沒什么感覺，而且下緣的弧度剛好貼合大部分襯衣口袋。頗具質(zhì)感的鋁合金外殼；內(nèi)置可方便充電的鋰電池，提供超長(zhǎng)待機(jī)時(shí)間，每天用30分鐘能用上將近一個(gè)月
對(duì)于國(guó)內(nèi)用戶，唯一的缺陷就是RAM只有2mb了，不過國(guó)內(nèi)的硬件高手如廣州的wujing大俠，推出的升8MB RAM的服務(wù)真是方便了不少人。相信今天還有一些朋友手中擁有升級(jí)過的8MB的Palm V吧。

99年成立的handspring在2000年推出了自己的第一款palm產(chǎn)品：Visor Delux。一口氣推出了五種顏色炫麗的外型，搭配略為透明的外殼，在Palm業(yè)界又掀起一片波瀾-原來palm也可以這樣時(shí)尚美麗。令人興奮的是，連同步底座都是透明的霧白色。Visor Deluxe幾乎成為年輕學(xué)子或新鮮人類最種意的機(jī)種。

Palm IIIc是Palm公司2000年2月22日發(fā)布的最新產(chǎn)品，是該公司第一款帶彩顯的掌上電腦。它的出現(xiàn)將黑白的palm代入了多彩的世界，一下palm的世界變得如此美麗。
但是對(duì)于一個(gè)彩色的機(jī)器8M內(nèi)存實(shí)在有點(diǎn)兒緊張。另外，彩色屏幕帶來的不太長(zhǎng)的使用時(shí)間，串口同步的較慢的同步速度就是個(gè)問題。但是記住，它是第一款彩色的palm掌上電腦。

其實(shí)提起palm我們就不應(yīng)該忘記TRG，從一開始TRG就致力于將cf的擴(kuò)展槽引入palm。并推出了第一款的cf擴(kuò)展槽的機(jī)器TRGpro，還記得那個(gè)紅色限量版的機(jī)器嗎？美麗的讓人心動(dòng)。2001年TRG改名為Handera，并推出了Handera330，就是那個(gè)16級(jí)灰度，320×240分辨率，有著軟手寫區(qū)全屏手寫的大機(jī)器，還記得看電子書時(shí)候它帶來的驚喜嗎？電池的耐力也不錯(cuò)。此外它首先創(chuàng)造了雙擴(kuò)展，cf和sD.。另外還有一個(gè)優(yōu)點(diǎn)就是全屏的背光，記得晚上使用palm III時(shí)，手寫區(qū)沒有背光的煩惱嗎？handera再也不會(huì)有這樣的問題了。
缺點(diǎn)就是320×240的屏幕可不是什么軟件都可以使用的，開始時(shí)有點(diǎn)麻煩，要多試試各種的軟件，等到一切的軟件都穩(wěn)定下來后，handera 330可是日常辦公的好幫手。
近于完美——tero 90

Tero -Handspring一個(gè)新的系列機(jī)器，中規(guī)中矩的設(shè)計(jì)。但是難得的全面，該有的都有了，彩色屏幕，16M內(nèi)存，SD卡槽，116G的重量。還有一個(gè)小鍵盤，打消新手對(duì)Graffiti的畏懼。
使用被動(dòng)顯示的STN屏幕，日光直射的時(shí)候比反射式的屏幕，如m515/T615要難讀，刷新率低，在動(dòng)畫中有明顯的影子現(xiàn)象，圖片不如m5×5或者T615細(xì)膩，但是大多數(shù)情況下有極佳的色彩和亮度，如果你不玩動(dòng)作游戲的話，他的表現(xiàn)甚至好過m5x5和T615。另一個(gè)缺點(diǎn)sd插槽必須打補(bǔ)丁后才可以支持SDIO。
OS4能做好的,能做到的事情它都做到了。對(duì)于這樣一個(gè)機(jī)器除了經(jīng)典之外還有什么可說的？

擁有Palm m515就等于擁有了一切--幾乎是一切。PALM OS 4時(shí)代的完美商務(wù)機(jī)型，亮金屬色的機(jī)殼，簡(jiǎn)潔大方，易用。
提到palm的機(jī)器不得不提到sony。Sony在2000年獲得了palm的授權(quán)，就像sony在其家用電器中的表現(xiàn)一樣，在palm上Clie更新太快了，讓人都沒有時(shí)間對(duì)一個(gè)機(jī)型留下深刻的印象，幾乎沒留下什么經(jīng)典機(jī)型。幾個(gè)有特色的機(jī)型基本又有著不同方面的缺陷使得我不知道如何對(duì)他們歸類。如T415的爛屏幕，T615巨好的屏幕但是很差的電池，n7××高高在上的價(jià)格都成為了你不知道是否應(yīng)該選他們成為經(jīng)典的原因。
當(dāng)然sony就是sony，總喜歡把任何的東西打上自己的烙印，memory stick的擴(kuò)展槽，jog(轉(zhuǎn)點(diǎn)通的滾輪)，和弦鈴聲，似乎都是所有sony機(jī)器的特點(diǎn)，此外高分的屏幕，增強(qiáng)紅外的遙控樂趣，N系列支持的mp3，白色的金屬外殼，似乎在palm的單一的商務(wù)面孔外增添了許多的樂趣。
提到歷史似乎就停不下了，有人說ppc是炫目的情人，而palm卻是老婆，你怎么想?希望擁有自己的一臺(tái)palm嗎？等待著你，加入“胖”的行列！

Amstrad begins shipping the Amstrad Pen Pad PDA600 Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) in England. It is the first PDA to be shipped. The Pen Pad weighs under a pound, is 1 inch thick, and features a 240x320 resolution 3x4 inch screen. It uses a 20 MHz Zilog Z8S180 microprocessor, and can run for 40 hours on three AA batteries. Apple Computer launches the Newton MessagePad 100 personal digital assistant at Macworld Expo, in Boston’s Symphony Hall. VLSI Technology and Intel announce the Polar processor chip set for handheld computers. The VI86C300 integrated processor controller incorporates a 386 processor core with 2 KB cache, memory controller, LCD controller, andgraphics accelerator. At the Microprocessor Forum, Advanced RISC Machines unveils the ARM7 processor family. Features are 0.8 micron technology, 3-5 volt operation, 20-33 MHz. [80]
At the Microprocessor Forum, AT&T Microelectronics announces the Hobbit 92020S processor, compatible with the 92010 processor. The 92020S doubles the instruction cache to 6 KB, and operates at 20 MHz. Price is US$37 in 10,000 unit quantities. [69]
